UW-Whitewater 9, UW-Stout 0
MENOMONIE (April 3, 2021) - In what is normally a fall sport for UW-Stout and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams was moved to the spring due to the pandemic and the Blue Devils opened both the conference and the season by hosting UW-Whitewater, Saturday, at the South Courts. The visiting Warhawks captured a 9-0 win.
In doubles,
Lauren Couves and
Annie Sandry dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 1 to Kasey Schlicht and Olivia Kraft. In singles, Couves was blanked in the first set of No. 1, but took a couple of sets in a 6-2 loss to Schlicht.Â
At No. 4 singles, freshman
Olivia Leipnitz lost a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Fellow freshman
Madeline Binczak lost at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0. Sandry lost at No. 2 singles, 6-0, as did
Kyrstin Hanson at No. 3 singles and
Kylie Rennie at No. 5 singles.
The Blue Devils (0-1, 0-1) are at UW-La Crosse, Wednesday, April 7 and at UW-River Falls, Sunday, April 11.Â
