Tinsley, Williams combine for 55 points to power Stout to 86-75 win over Albion

ALBION, Mich (November 13, 2021) - Armani Tinsley and Lovell Williams combined for 55 points as UW-Stout downed Albion, Mich, College, 86-75, Saturday.

Both Tinsley and Williams scored collegiate-bests, as Tinsley led all scorers with 30 points and Williams tickled the twine for 25 points. Both shot 9 of 20 from the floor. Tinsley hit 5 of 14 3-pointers, Williams 2 of 5. Tinsley was 7 of 9 from the line, while Williams was 5 of 6.

The Blue Devils, who ran their record to 3-0, led 43-32 at halftime, and carried as much as a 14-point lead late in the first half.

Cortez Garland scored 26 points for Albion (0-2). MJ Barnes and Justin McAbee each added 15 and Jonathon Armstead-Wilkerson had 10 points. The Britons last season made it to the championship game of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). 

As a team, Stout shot 47.0 percent from the floor (31-66), 32.0 percent from 3-point range (8-25) and 76.2 percent from the line (16-21). Albion shot 45.3 percent (24-53) from the floor, 33.3 percent (6-18) from beyond the arc and 67.7 percent (21-31) from the line. Stout held a 40-32 advantage in free throws with the Blue Devils' TYreese Alexander pulling down eight.

After three straight road games, plus an exhibition road game, the Blue Devils will make their home debut, Tuesday, Nov. 16 when they host Lakeland University at 7 p.m. in Johnson Fieldhouse.
