UW-Stout 2, Bethel University 0

MENOMONIE (October 6, 2021) – UW-Stout's Liv Winkler scored her fifth goal of the season and Lauren Chukel scored her first collegiate goal as the Blue Devils captured their sixth shutout of the season with a 2-0 win over Bethel University Wednesday at Nelson Field.

The Blue Devils (9-3-1) pretty much controlled the entire field from the get-go, outshooting Bethel (5-6-1) 15-3 overall and 8-3 on net. Stout also had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Winkler scored in the 25th minute, with an assist from Marissa Steele, to get the Blue Devils on the board in the first half.

Taking passes from fellow freshmen Lauren Boyd and Anna Herzog, Chukel raced up the middle through the box to record the clincher in the 73rd minute.

Rachel Younker was able to take shots towards the net for most of the night, finishing with five total shots. Winkler and Chukel each got off four shots, two on net, and Steele got off three shots, one on net.

Haley Vokaty kept her area clean with three saves and controlled a number of crosses to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

The game was Stout's final non-conference game of the season. The Blue Devils travel to UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Oct. 9 for a 4 p.m. meeting with the Titans.
