Win for Overwatch keeps team's section hopes alive


MENOMONIE (October 4, 2021) - UW-Stout's Overwatch Esports team kept hopes for a top three placing in their section alive with a win over Missouri Baptist University in National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) play Monday night.

The Blue Devils Overwatch (2-4) took a 3-1 win over Missouri Baptist, and the team's performance did not go without notice by outside observers.

According to Stout Overwatch coach Tobey Riedmann a commentator on the match noted the high quality of play of Blue Devil DPS players Ben Teirman and Nick Riley, and off tank player Reed Theship-Rosales

While Stout's Rocket League team (7-2) split a pair of games Sunday in a qualifying tournament, the Blue Devils nabbed their fifth consecutive NACE win with a 3-0 decision over Concordia-St. Paul Monday evening. 

Both teams return to action, Monday, Oct. 11. Overwatch will play Kansas Wesleyan University and Rocket League will play the University of Missouri.
