Jessica Barr put down a career-high 18 kills in a 3-1 win over host Minnesota-Morris as UW-Stout closed out the day with two wins. The Blue Devils opened the day with a 3-0 win over Martin Luther College in the triangular.
Barr, who also had a team-high 12 kills against Martin Luther College, surpassed her career-high of 15 kills by hitting at a healthy .279 clip.Â
Against the host Cougars (13-12), the Blue Devils (13-11) had to overcome a 25-23 first set loss, going on to take the match 25-15, 25-22, 25-17, to snap a three-match losing streak to Morris.
Sidney Hoverman had 12 kills against Morris and
Emili Cain finished with 11.
Lexie Nelson set up 49, matching a career-high. and a mark she set twice this earlier this season. Nelson recorded 10 digs.
Martin Luther (10-13) gave the Blue Devils a tussle in the first set, with Stout coming out on top 25-23, but Stout dominated the final two sets, 25-13, 25-16.
Besides Barr's 12 kills, Hoverman finished with 10 kills. Nelson had 27 assists in the three-set match and had 10 digs, along with two block assists.Â
Stout will be at UW-Superior, Tuesday, Oct. 26, then will wrap up the regular season by traveling to UW-Whitewater, Friday, Oct. 29 and Concordia University-Wisconsin, Saturday, Oct. 30..
