UW-La Crosse 94, UW-Stout 62
LA CROSSE (February 12, 2020) - After UW-Stout broke the ice by scoring the first basket of the night, UW-La Crosse set the tone by launching a 15-2 run on their way to a 94-62 win over the Blue Devils Wednesday in Mitchell Hall.
To the Blue Devils' credit, they did cut the lead to 16-7 before the Eagles took off again and held a 51-22 halftime lead.Â
The Eagles (17-5, 6-5 WIAC), who are receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, had players score in double digits, led by Luke Norcia's 14 points. Ethan Anderson and Zion Turner each contributed 12 and Terek Nesheim finished with 11 points. the Eagles held a 40-26 advantage in rebounds. The Eagles hit 11 3-pointers with Norcia leading the way with three.
Stout (5-17, 1-10 WIAC) got 12 points from
TYreese Alexander and 10 points from
Luke Geiger. The Blue Devils shot 37.5 percent (21-56) from the field, while the Eagles shot 59.7 percent (37-62).Â
Stout will be at UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m., then return to Johnson Fieldhouse for their final home game of the season when they host UW-Stevens Point, Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
