Pointers jump out early, Blue Devils fall 70-56

STEVENS POINT (January 25, 2020) – UW-Stevens Point led from start to finish and went on to a 70-56 win over UW-Stout Saturday at Quandt Fieldhouse.
 
The Pointers (12-6, 4-3 WIAC) opened up the game on a 6-0 run. Stout (5-13, 1-6 WIAC) got the score as close as three points a couple of times early, but the Pointers went on a 10-2 run to make the score 21-10 midway through the first half.
 
Stout got 10 points each from Jon Ciriacks, Cliff McCray and Kyle Jackson.
 
The Pointers got a game-best 17 points from Garrett Nelson, 15 points from Blake Ehrke and 10 points from Ethan Bublitz. The Pointers had a 42-33 advantage off the glass.
 
Stout will host UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Jan. 29 at approximately 8 p.m. as the second half of doubleheader bill with the women's programs.
