Cardinal Stritch 81, UW-Stout 63
MILWAUKEE (December 4, 2019) -Â UW-Stout held the lead for the first minute of the game, but Cardinal Stritch University led the rest of the way and defeated the Blue Devils 81-63 in a non-conference contest in Milwaukee Wednesday.

The Wolves (5-5) dominated the first half in the paint, outscoring the Blue Devils (2-5) in the lane 20-4 on their way to a 43-30 halftime lead, also held a decided advantage off the glass before the break, pulling down 24 rebounds to Stout's 10. The Wolves out-scored Stout 38-33 in the second half.
Stout hurt their own cause with low percentage shooting, hitting 22-of-67 shots (32.8 percent) from the field. Stout did put down a season-high 11 3-point shots, but needed 34 long range attempts (32.4). Stritch, in contrast, had a hot hand all game, shooting 58.8 percent from the floor (30-51).Â

Stout got 12 points each from
Luke Geiger and
Jon Ciriacks. Ciriacks led Stout with six rebounds.
Matt Newman scored a career-best nine points, hitting three 3-pointers. Cardinal Stritch did commit 23 turnovers, with Stout taking 12 steals.Â

The Wolves' Nemanja Knezevic led all scorers with 21 points. CSU had four players score in double figure and Stritch out-rebounded Stout 42-28. Niko Travica had nine rebounds for Stritch and Filip Milosevic came off the bench to pull down eight boards.

Stout is off until Wednesday, Dec. 11 when they travel to Northland College.
