Soccer toppled by Pointers

STEVENS POINT (September 29, 2018) - UW-Stevens Point scored one goal early and one goal late on their way to a 2-0 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up Saturday at the Point Soccer Bowl.

The Pointers' Maddy Hardyman scored in the 17th minute of the contest, then Kaitlyn Hess finished up the scoring in the 85th minute on an assist by Hardyman.

The Pointers (8-1-1, 1-0-0 WIAC) out-shot the Blue Devils (2-7-1, 0-2-0 WIAC) by a margin of 19-6. Both goalkeepers - Stout's Claudia Anderson and the Pointers' Lexi Pawlowski - recorded three saves apiece. 

Stout returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 3 when they travel to St. Olaf College with a 4 p.m. start in Northfield, Minn.
