UW-Stout 2, UW-River Falls 2 (OT)
RIVER FALLS (February 10, 2018) -
Joe Kleven scored the game-tying goal as UW-Stout came from behind to tie with at UW-River Falls, 2-2, Saturday at Hunt Arena.
Kleven scored the lone goal of the third period, scoring at 10:20 of the period. Kleven's second goal of the season was assisted by
Dylan Zins, who scored earlier to tie the game in the second period.
The Falcons (7-15-3, 1-6-1 WIAC) took the lead at 8:51 in the second period on a goal by Joe Drapluk. Zins tied the gamefor the Blue Devils (6-15-3, 3-4-1 WIAC) with his fifth goal of the season at 10:46 on assists by
Austin Jackson and
Hunter Anderson.
River Falls took the lead back at 18:44 of the second period on a goal by Cayden Cahill.
In the overtime period, one of Kleven's shots hit the pipe.
Both teams were whistled only once for a penalty apiece. Stout'sÂ
Tommi Ahlgren made 21 saves, while the Falcons' Zach Quinn made 22 saves.
Stout earned the third seed in the
WIAC Commissioner's Cup and will play at UW-Eau Claire in a semi-finals series Feb. 23-24. The Falcons will be at UW-Superior Feb. 16-17 in a first round contest.
