UW-Stevens Point 80, UW-Stout 63
STEVENS POINT (February 10, 2018) - UW-Stout's
Isaac Elliott scored 12 of his game-high 19 points in the first half, but UW-Stevens Point countered with 14 first half points by Canon O'Heron and the Pointers took a 39-29 halftime lead on their way to an 80-63 win over the Blue Devils Saturday at Quandt Fieldhouse.
Stevens Point (16-7, 10-2 WIAC) held the 10 point, 39-29 halftime lead over Stout (8-15, 2-10 WIAC), then pushed the lead up to 15 points and never let Stout get any closer than 12 points the rest of the game.
Elliott and O'Heron led all players with 19 points. The Pointers' Nate Dodge added 18 points and MJ Delmore tossed in 14 points.
Stout's
Sam Ortmann contributed 13 points and
Joe Duty tallied 11 points.
Stout shot well in the first half, hitting 50 percent (12-24) of their shots. The Pointers countered by shooting 55.2 percent (16-29). The Pointers hit five first half 3-pointers, but dropped in eight in the second half to finish with 13. Stevens Point shot 66.7 percent from the floor in the second half and finished the game shooting 60 percent (30-50). Stout finished the game shooting 46.8 percent (22-47).
Stout will travel to UW-La Crosse, Wednesday, Feb. 14, then will close out the season by hosting UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m.
