UW-Stout 79, Lawrence University 74 (OT)
SUPERIOR (November 9, 2018) - UW-Stout opened the season with a 79-74 overtime win over Lawrence University in the first game of the Merrill Thompson Classic at UW-Superior.
With the scored tied at 68 at the end of regulation, the Blue Devils'
John Keefe, in his first game back since being injured in the first game of last season, scored six of his 12 points in the overtime period as Stout outscored the Vikings 11-4 in the extra five minutes.
Jon Ciriacks punched in 16 points, 10 in the second half, and pulled down 13 rebounds to finish with his first career double-double.
Luke Geiger had a career night, coming off the bench to scored 15 points, scoring 11 points after halftime.Guard
D'Marcco Patrick added 10 points, eight in the first half.
The Vikings were led by freshman Brad Sendell, who scored all 16 of his points in the second half.
The win gives Blue Devil head coach
Jim Lake his first collegiate head coaching win in his first outing.
The Blue Devils are scheduled to play Finlandia University, Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
