Blue Devil volleyball splits games at Whitewater

UW-Whitewater 3, UW-Stout 0 | UW-Stout 3, Edgewood College 0

WHITEWATER (October 13, 2018) – The UW-Stout volleyball team split a pair of matches at UW-Whitewater Saturday, falling 3-0 to host Whitewater in a WIAC contest, but then rebounded for a 3-0 non-conference win over Edgewood College later in the afternoon.
 
The Warhawks captured a 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 win over the Blue Devils (12-10, 3-2 WIAC). Stout got eight kills from Kennedy Strain. The Warhawks were led by Amanda Spera's match-high nine kills. Stout had three solo blocks and four block assists, while the Warhawks recorded 16 assisted blocks.
 
Lexie Nelson led the Blue Devils against Edgewood College with 11 kills. Amber Ripley added eight as the Blue Devils downed the Eagles, 25-20, 25-21, 25-17.  Emily Makina recorded four service aces. Stout had two solo blocks and 14 block assists, while the Eagles had one solo and two block assists.
 
The Blue Devils return to action Friday, Oct. 19 at the Concordia-Wisconsin Invitational.
