MENOMONIE (September 21, 2017) - All of the scoring took place in the first 11 minutes of the game as UW-Stout and Bethel University played to a 1-1 double overtime draw Thursday at Nelson Field.

The Royals (3-3-1) drew first blood when Maggie Sipe scored on a cross in the middle from Sophie Kendall in the third minute of the game, but Stout (1-4-1) answered back in the 11th minute when Sydney Kasper headed in the ball on a pass from Ryanne Millis.

After that, it was a series of missed opportunities for both teams.

Late in the second period, Kasper hit the inside of the post and minutes later off a corner kick

In the final overtime period, the Royals' Sydney Wight dinged a shot off the crossbar and three minutes later, Nikki Sedivy headed a shot that hit the Bethel defender standing in front of the post.

Bethany Hanson had one of her best games as a Blue Devil, punching out eight shots, easily a season high.

Rachel Nowak made her first collegiate start, knocking away seven shots and clearing several loose balls. The Royals' Kaylee Peterson finished with five shots.

Stout will be at Viterbo University, Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
