UW-Stout 4, UW-Superior 0
SUPERIOR (September 13, 2017) - UW-Stout spread the scoring wealth around as four different players scored goals scattered throughout the game in a 4-0 win over UW-Superior Wednesday at the Superior High School field.
The Blue Devils (1-3), in picking up their first win of the season, got things going early when
Sydney Kasper (Jr, Owatonna, Minn) scored in the third minute of the contest, her first goal of the season. Freshman
Kaitlyn Hess (Wisconsin Rapids) assisted on the play.
Sarah Dickmann (So, Shawano) picked up her second goal of the season, scoring on a penalty kick in the 18th minute. The goal was Dickmann's second penalty kick goal of the season.
Lynn Johnson (So, Shakopee, Minn) worked the first half, but the Blue Devil defense did their job in excess. The Blue Devils not only did not allow the Yellowjackets (1-4) a shot on goal, they allowed no overall shots. Freshman
Rachel Nowak (Lomira) saw her first action of the season, working the second half.
Bethany Hanson (Sr, Coon Rapids, Minn) opened up the second half with a goal in the 51st minute, her first goal of the season, with an assist by
Ryanne Millis (So, Shakopee, Minn).
Bethany Hennen (Jr, Apple Valley, Minn) scored her first collegiate goal to complete the scoring for the evening, taking a pass from Kasper in the 60th minute.
Stout racked up 23 total shots to none for Superior, and put 12 shots on goal. Yellowjackets' goalies Bailey Henderson and Skye Brown made eight saves. The Blue Devil defense rarely let the Yellowjackets deep into their zone. Stout had four corner kicks to none for Superior.
The Blue Devils are off until they travel to Gustavus Adolphus, Tuesday, Sept. 19. Stout will host Bethel University, Thursday, Sept. 21.
