UW-Stout 3, UW-Superior 1
SUPERIOR (September 12, 2017) -
Kennedy Strain (Jr, Elk River, Minn) and
Emily Bialka (Jr, Cottage Grove, Minn) combined for 20 kills as UW-Stout downed UW-Superior in four sets, 3-1, Tuesday.
Strain led all players with 11 kills and added two solo blocks and a block assist, while Bialka finished with nine kills.
Freshman
Amber Ripley (Farmington, Minn) contributed eight kills and freshman
Emili Cain (Corcoran, Minn) put down seven kills.
Jessica DuVal (So, Logan, Iowa) finished with a match-high 37 assists.
The Blue Devils (4-4) improved to .500 by downing the Yellowjackets (5-5), 25-14, 21-25, 25-11, 25-21.
Stout held a distinct advantage at the serving line, dropping in nine service aces to the Yellowjackets two. Strain finished with three service aces, as did back row specialist
Carissa Hilgers (Jr, Minnetonka, Minn).
Steph Cannon (So, Mora, Minn) had 22 digs and Hilgers popped up 15.
Stout opens the home portion of the schedule when they host Bethel University, Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.
