Kennedy Strain recorded 24 total kills on the night, 14 against Carthage and 10 against Saint Mary's as Stout went 0-2 to start the season.
The Blue Devils (0-2) lost a four set match to Carthage, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20, then lost in three sets to host St. Mary's, 25-15, 25-19, 25-18.
Ashley Pratt and
Amber Ripley each had three block assists against Carthage and Pratt recorded five block assists and
Emily Bialka three against St. Mary's.

Pratt, the team's leading hitter last season, had nine kills against St. Mary's, but was held to six in the opener against Carthage.

Freshman
Demi Ploor had three service aces in each match.
The Blue Devils will play the University of Chicago and Central College Saturday, Sept. 2 to close out the invitational.
