MENOMONIE (April 29, 2017) – On a chilly Senior Day, the Blue Devils fell in two games to the Oshkosh Titans. Senior Noah Brown led the charge, racking up three hits, including his ninth career homerun. Seniors Brown, Derek Graves, and Tyler Christensen all played their final home game at Nelson Field.
Stout got off to a hot start as Jordan Wilson came into score after singling to left center, and then driven in by Noah Brown who singled and then stole second. The Blue Devils then found a run in the fifth as Ben Vanhove came around to score, stealing second, and getting home on a fielder's choice. The game was then tied at two. In the seventh inning, the Titans scored when Logan Rekert singled and brough Andy Brahier home. This sealed the win for the Titans.
In the second game, Stout found themselves up early in the first inning. Joel Hollow drew a walk and was soon brought home as Brown showed his opposite-field power, jacking the ball to right-center, just past the Blue Devil scoreboard. Jon Krueger then found himself on second on a single and wild pitch. He was then driven in by senior Derek Graves, who singled. The Blue Devils were up 5-0. Two more runs were added  by Matt Emmer in the second and fourth innings to make it a 5-1 game. The lead then disappeared in the eighth and ninth innings as Oshkosh piled on 12 runs to win the game 15-5.
The Blue Devils will finish up their regular season schedule as they head to Superior on Wednesday May third and then to Stevens Point next weekend.
