UW-Whitewater 83, UW-Stout 48
WHITEWATER (February 4, 2017) -
John Lahti scored 16 points, had eight rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots for UW-Stout, but the Blue Devils were defeated by UW-Whitewater, 83-48, Saturday in Kachel Gymnasium.
Lahti scored nine points in the first and had four rebounds as UW-Stout (13-8, 4-6 WIAC) trailed 38-24 at halftime to the 21st ranked Warhawks.
Stout held a very early lead, but once the Warhawks (18-3, 7-3 WIAC) took the lead two minutes into the game, they never relinquished it, sprinting off to as much as a 39 point lead late in the game.
Lahti was the only Blue Devil in double digits.
Jacob Nordstrom finished the night with eight points, one blocked shot and five rebounds.
The Warhawks got 17 points from the conference's leading scorer, Chris Jones. Alex Pfeiffer contributed 12 points. The Warhawks held a 38-31 advantage in rebounds.
The Warhawks shot 49.1 percent (26-53) for the game from the floor. Stout shot 38.2 percent (21-55) from the floor.
Stout returns home to face fifth ranked UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Feb. 8 and will host UW-Stevens Point, Saturday, Feb. 11.
