MENOMONIE (January 7, 2017) - UW-Oshkosh went on a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter, partially inspired by three steals by Taylor Schmidt, and  the 13th-ranked Titans ran off to a 64-58 win over UW-Stout Saturday on Dewey Mintz Court in Johnson Fieldhouse.

With the Blue Devils (5-8, 1-1 WIAC) leading 56-46 with 7:04 remaining in the game, the Titans got a pair of free throws from Kylie Moe, and a 3-pointer and two buckets by Eliza Campbell to pull the Titans to within 56-55 at 4:46.

Schmidt then rolled off three consecutive steals, converting the second two steals into layups to give Oshkosh a 57-56 lead, a lead they would not give up. A 3-pointer by Kendell Truttman gave Oshkosh (12-1, 2-0 WIAC) a 60-56 lead before Stout's Jenna Goldsmith broke the Blue Devil skid with a basket with 2:19 remaining.

But Goldsmith's basket would be the final points for Stout. Schmidt would record two more steals before the evening was over to finish with seven steals and 12 points.

The entire game proved to a contest of runs.

The Titans started off the game on an 8-3 run, but the Blue Devils reversed that with a 15-3 run to close out the first quarter with an 18-11 lead. Six different Blue Devils contributed in the run, with Whitney Folkers tickling the twine for a pair of baskets and two assists.

The second quarter would belong to the Titans. Oshkosh scored 13 points before the Blue Devils scored their first basket of the period with 3:24 left. Stout came back to tie the score with 42 seconds left, but Oshkosh carried a 31-27 lead into halftime.

Kyncaide Diedrich lit the fire under the Blue Devils in the third quarter, outscoring the entire Oshkosh team in the quarter when she dropped in 12 of her game-high 20 points, making 3-of-4 field goals and all six of her free throws. Stout led, 48-41 at the end of the third.

Stout held advantage early through the fourth quarter and took the 10-point, 56-46 lead on a 3-pointer by Goldsmith. That's when Oshkosh began chipping away and eventually stole their way to the win.

Campbell led the Titans with 16 points, 10 in the fourth quarter, and Schmidt finished with 12. Goldsmith scored 13 points for Stout.

The Blue Devils held a huge 2-to-1 advantage in rebounding, pulling down 46 rebounds to 23 for the Titans. Diedrich and Emily Jacques each had eight rebounds and McKenna McVey snagged seven. The Titans' Alex Richard recorded one-third of the Titans' rebounds with eight.

For the game, Stout shot 42.6 percent (20-47) from the floor, 77.8 percent (14-18) from the line and 30.8 percent (4-13) from beyond the arc. The Titans finished the night shooting 38.5 percent (20-52) from the field, 59.3 percent (16-27) from the free throw line after making all 10 of their first half free throws, and 29.6 percent (8-27) from 3-point range.

Perhaps the most telltale statistics of the night came in turnovers where Stout committed 29 and the Titans 12. Oshkosh recorded 13 steals. Stout had eight turnovers in the fourth quarter to the Titans' one, and Oshkosh picked Stout's pocket six times in the final quarter.

Stout will host UW-Stevens Point, Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.
