ST. PAUL, MINN. (January 21, 2016) - In a home game at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul,Minn. Stout tied the St. Thomas Tommies 1-1.
Colton Brausen scored the only goal for the Blue Devils.
Brausen's goal came at the 17:29 mark of the first period, as he scored even strength from the center of the penalty circles, assisted by
Riley Colvard and
Derek Sand. Stout was able to hold the Tommies 1-0 to the end of the period.
In the second period, the Tommies pushed back, shooting 12 shots second period. Finally, one shot got past Tommi Algren for a Tommies score. Jack Christensen, assisted by Cullen Willcox, scored on even strength for St. Thomas.
The game remained tied through the third, moving to overtime. St. Thomas controlled the puck for the majority of the OT period, Algren put on a stellar final two minutes. He saved five shots by the Tommies, three of which looked like they were scores.
Stout held on to keep the 1-1 tie.
Brausen scored his seventh goal of the season, second best for the Blue Devils.
