UW-La Crosse 64, UW-Stout 52
LA CROSSE (January 14, 2017) - UW-La Crosse went on a 12-2 run over the last five minutes of the first quarter, to erase a 10-7 UW-Stout lead and the Eagles downed the Blue Devils 64-52 Saturday at Mitchell Hall.
The Eagles took a 19-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and built that to a 33-23 halftime lead. The Eagles had a double digit lead for almost all of the second half.
Both teams had three played in double figures, with the Eagles' Taylor Nelson and Daleney Schoenenberger leading the way with 15 points. MaKenzie Miller notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Blue Devils were led by
Kyncaide Diedrich and
Bailey Diersen with 13 points apiece.
Jenna Goldsmith added 12 points.
The Eagles shot 38.7 percent (24-62) from the floor, 36.0 percent (9-25) from 3-point range and 58.3 percent (7-12) from the line.
Stout shot 31.9 percent (22-69) from the floor, 13.3 percent (2-15) from 3-point range and 54.5 percent (6-11) from the line. The Eagles out-rebounded Stout, 46-44. Diedrich led Stout with nine board.
Stout returns to Johnson Fieldhouse to host UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
