Spikers get a pair of sweeps at Northwestern Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. (September 3, 2016) - UW-Stout improved to 3-1 on the early season as they swept through St. Scholastica and Augsburg College by identical 3-0 scores.

The Blue Devils defeated St. Scholastica, 29-27, 25-19, 25-12, in a late morning match, then closed out their portion of the tournament with a  25-21, 25-16, 25-17, sweep of the Auggies.
 
Ashley Pratt, who was named to the all-tournament team, stretched her streak of double digits kills to four matches, recording 14 kills against St. Scholastica and 11 against Augsburg.
 
Kennedy Strain had four solo blocks and two assisted blocks against. St. Scholastica and one solo and three assisted blocks against Augsburg.

Freshman setter Jessica DuVal and junior middle blocker Ashley Pratt were named to the all-tournament team. DuVal finished the four-match tournament with 122 assists.

The Blue Devils return to Minneapolis Wednesday, Sept. 7 to face the Auggies, then will be at the Northland College Invitational Sept. 9-10.
