ST. PAUL, MINN. (September 10, 2016) - Fourth ranked St.Thomas rolled out to a 29-0 lead in the second quarter before UW-Stout could even get on the board, the Tommies proved to be too much as the fourth ranked Tommies downed the Blue Devils, 57-17, at O'Shaunassy Field.

The Blue Devil defense was tough in the first quarter, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Nick Schulenburg (Jr, Fort Atkinson) and on the following St. Thomas (2-0, 0-0 MIAC) drive forced the Tommies to punt. It wasn't until late in the first quarter (1:45 left to go) that the Blue Devils gave up a score.

It was a tough go on offense for Stout (1-1, 0-0 WIAC). The only two touchdowns came from Jordan Dabney (Sr, Monteca, Cal.) who scored twice in the game, once on a 42-yard pass from Jay Alston (So, Rochester, Minn.) to put Stout on the board in the second quarter and again in the third quarter, a 13-yard pass from QB Danny Farley (Sr, Boonton Township, NJ). Dabney pulled in six passes for 76 yards and ran his TD production to four on the year. Drew Pearson (So, Wausua) punched a 26-yard field goal through in the third quarter.

Travis Urlaub (Sr, Stratford) also had a good day for Stout; he rushed for 70 yards and carried the ball 17 times.

The Tommies (2-0) got two TDs from Tucker Trettel in the second quarter.

St. Thomas outgained Stout, 313-276, in total offense. The Tommies rushed 44 times for 138 yards and completed 15 passes for 175 yards. Stout (1-1) rushed 42 times for 124 yards, and completed 12 passes for 152 yards.

Stout will be at Mayville State University, Saturday, Sept. 17.
