MENOMONIE (April 17, 2016) - UW-Stout and UW-Stevens Point wrapped up their four-game series with each team grabbing a 10-5 decision Sunday, with the Blue Devils winning the first game and the Pointers the nightcap.
Hayden Bowe went the distance in the first game, striking out three to get the win in his first complete game of the season.
Stout (10-10, 3-5 WIAC) scored three runs in the third inning, added a single run in the fifth, then exploded for five runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-3 lead.
Josh Halling had three RBI in the first game, driving in a pair of runs in the third inning and adding another in the decisive sixth inning.
In the nightcap, the Pointers (9-13, 3-5 WIAC) used a six-run seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie.
The Pointers' William Iloncaie and Turner Doornink each had a pair of RBIs in the seventh inning, with Doornink's coming on a two-run home run.
On the day, the top half of the Blue Devil line-up proved to be productive.
Brady Burzynski was 4-for-7 with five runs scored and one RBI. over the two games. Halling was 4-for-9 with five RBI and three runs scored.
Noah Brown was 3-for-9 with three RBI.
Hunter Dicus was 5-for-8Â with an RBI.
Stout will host St. Thomas Tuesday, April 19 at 1 p.m., then will be at Northland College Wednesday, April 20. Stout return home to host conference leader UW-La Crosse, Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
