OSHKOSH (April 10, 2016) - UW-Oshkosh handed UW-Stout a pair of shortened game losses as the Titans won the two WIAC games by identical 9-1 scores at the UWO Softball Park Sunday.
In the opener, the Titans (12-4, 4-0 WIAC) jumped out for four runs in the first and added three more in the second and two more in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead. Stout's only run of the game came in the fifth inning when Sara Griebach's sacrifice bunt scored
Kaylee Francois from third.
In the second game, the Titans built up a 4-0 lead, getting two runs in the second and single runs in the third and fifth.
Stout (9-11, 1-3 WIAC) got on the scoreboard in the sixth. Back-to-back infield singles by
Karley Wiensch and
Rachel Thomas, followed by a walk to
Tori Workman, loaded the bases. A forceout at home stopped one run, but
Heather Bol delivered a sacrifice fly to score Thomas.
The Titans piled up five runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game.
The Blue Devils are set to open the home portion of their schedule Wednesday, April 13 when they host UW-La Crosse at 3 p.m.
