UW-River Falls 3, UW-Stout 1 (Box Score)
RIVER FALLS (February 26, 2016) - UW-Stout found the back of the net first, but UW-River Falls scored twice in the second period and went on to down the Blue Devils, 3-1, in the first game of the WIAC semi-final series Friday at Hunt Arena.

Danny Ray put Stout (10-13-5) on the board at 5:39 of the first period, with
Tom Schmidt on the assist.
The Falcons (16-6-4) took the lead in the second period. Christian George and Eddie Matsushima scored in just over a minute's time late in the second stanza for a 2-1 lead. The Falcons' Zach Schrotenboer scored six minutes into the third for what would prove to be the final 3-1 score.
Nick Schmit recorded 37 saves for the Blue Devils, while the Falcons' Tanner Milliron notched 21 saves.
The best-of-two series will conclude Saturday, Feb. 27 in River Falls. The winner will advance to the WIAC Championship game, Saturday, March 5. For Stout to advance, they must defeat the Falcons, then must win a deciding mini-game. The Blue Devils won a mini-game series last week in the first round of the WIAC Championship.
