UW-Stevens Point 5, UW-Stout 2STEVENS POINT (February 12, 2016) -
Riley Colvard scored less than a minute after UW-Stevens Point opened the scoring to tie the game at 1 apiece midway through the first period, but the Pointers rolled off the next three goals on their way to a 5-2 conference win Friday.
The Pointers' Lawrence Cornellier opened the scoring at 11:58 of the first, but Colvard answered back at 12:37, with assists by
Dylan Zins and
Gavin Smith.
Cornellier scored the next two goals, the first at 14:50 of the first and the second, a power play goal, at 4:21 of the second. Just over a minute later Jacob Barber made it a 4-1 game.
Craig Lindegard scored on the power play for the Blue Devils at 9:03 of the second, with assists by
Jake Useldinger and Colvard. The Pointers closed out the scoring at 5:44 of the third, a power play shot by Eliot Grauer.
Nidk Schmit took the loss for Stout, making 30 saves. Max Milosek had 23 saves for the Pointers.
The Blue Devils will close the regular season Saturday, Feb. 13 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
