Photo GalleryMENOMONIE (February 10, 2016) - The Blue Devils cut the Pointer lead to four points after
John Keefe hit an NBA-sized three pointer with 13 seconds left in the game. A pair of Stevens Point free throws increased the lead to six, and a
Jalen Patterson two point putback brought Stout back to four, but the Blue Devils ran out of time, falling 65-61 to Point. Keefe ended up with 20 points and four rebounds, and Patterson scored twelve and grabbed five rebounds for Stout.
Stout came out with the same intensity as their last contest in the first half, going up 12-6 after
Brett Ahsenmacher hit a three pointer that was assisted by
Christian Brandyn. They then pushed the Pointers even further after a three pointer by Keefe that was assisted by
Hank Kujak. The Blue Devils found themselves up seven at the first half horn, 32-25.
The Pointers came out shooting in the second half, hitting 10-of-17 three point field goals. Stout held the lead until the 11 minute mark of the second half. The Blue Devils didn't see the lead after that mark; Stout got as close as four points on four separate occasions, but couldn't tip the Pointers.
John Lahti added four points and led the team in rebounding with eight boards, and Ahsenmacher poured in seven points for Stout.
The Pointers' Stephen Pelkofer had a game-high 24 points, scoring 18 in the second half (6 of 9 from three).
The Blue Devils take their game on the road, heading to UW-Whitewater Saturday February 13 for a 5 p.m. game.
