Concordia-Moorhead 6, UW-Stout 1
MOORHEAD, Minn (December 9, 2016) - Concordia-Moorhead scored three goals in the second period to run away from UW-Stout in a 6-1 win over the Blue Devils Friday.
The Cobbers (7-4-0) ran off the first six goals of the game, scoring a power play goal in the first, three even strength goals in the second and one of each in the third period.
The Blue Devils (5-6-0) wiped off the shutout with 44 seconds left in the contest on a goal by
Colton Brausen (Little Canada, Minn), the freshman's third of the season, with an assist by
Gavin Smith (Jr, Savage, Minn). Brausen finished the night with five shots on goal.
Jon Grebosky and Dalton Mills each scored two goals for the Cobbers. Concordia outshot Stout 27-21.
Tommi Ahlgren (Fr, Tampere, Finland) took the loss for the Blue Devils, giving up five goals and making 13 saves.
Spencer Viele (Sr, Wildwood, Mo) came on in relief in the third period, recording eight saves and giving up a goal in 13 minutes of work. The Cobbers' Jacob Stephen got the win and made 20 saves.
Stout returns home after nearly a month on the road when they host St. Olaf College, Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
