UW-Stout 81, Carleton College 68
WISCONSIN DELLS (December 30, 2016) - UW-Stout's sophomore guards combined for well over half of the Blue Devils' points and Stout went on to an 81-68 win over Carleton College Friday at the JustAGame Classic.
Kyncaide Diedrich (So, Athens) matched a career-high with 22 points to lead Stout. Fellow guards
Bailey Diersen (So, Greenville) and
Carolyn Feddema (So, Hanover, Minn) scored 16 and 10 points, respectively. The trio combined for 48 of Stout's 81 points.
The Blue Devils (4-7) jumped out to a quick, first period 10 point lead, but the Knights pulled to within one point, 14-13, at the end of the first quarter. Stout held a 14 point, 43-29, halftime lead and allowed Carleton to get only as close as seven points in the third quarter.
Carleton was led by Samantha Cooke with 22 points and eight rebounds. Caroline Hull added 12 points.
The Blue Devils committed a season-low eight turnover, while Carleton committed 18.

- McKenna McVey scored a collegiate best five points and also had five rebounds
- The 29 points scored in the second quarter was a season high for the Blue Devils
- Kyncaide Diedrich dropped in three 3-pointers, a team season high
- Bailey Diersen had a career-high four assists
- Stout will begin conference play Wednesday, Jan. 4 when they travel to UW-Platteville for a 7 p.m. contest.
