UW-Stout 64, Central College 56
WISCONSIN DELLS (December 29, 2016) - UW-Stout held off a late Central College charge and went on to a 64-56 win over the Dutch in the JustAGame Classic Thursday.
The Blue Devils came out early in the game, then repeated the feat coming out of the locker room after halftime, building on a 31-26 halftime lead.
The Dutch's Trashawn Boyd scored all eight of his points in the waning minutes of the game, but the Blue Devil (7-2) did not bend and captured the eight point win.

John Keefe (Jr, Medford) scored 12 of his team-high 19 points in the second half, while fellow guard
Cory Speer (Sr, Elgin, Minn) scored eight of his 13 points in the second half. The Blue Devils had seven players get into the scoring column.
Braden Walbeck (So, Fall Creek) scored 11 points, all in the first half with eight points in the first six minutes of the game to lead a Stout charge to a quick 12-2 early lead.
The Dutch (7-3) were led by Colby Taylor with a game-high 20 points. Pete Walker contributed 13 points. The Dutch had six players score.
Stout held a 10-rebound advantage off the glass, pulling down 44 to 34 for Central.
Jacob Nordstrom (Sr, Melrose) pulled down a game-high and career-best nine rebounds.
John Lahti matched Nordstrom with nine rebounds and Keefe had seven rebounds.Â
PARTING SHOTS
- Stout has been off since December 10 when they defeated the University of Dubuque.
- Cory Speer and John Lahti were both perfect at the line. Speer was 7-of-7, while Lahti was 4-of-4. Overall, Stout was 22-of-32 from the line. Central was 13-of-20.
- Stout will meet Lawrence University Friday, Dec. 30 in the second game of the JustAGame Classic.
