Box Score UW-Stout 5, St. Olaf 4 (OT)
NORTHFIELD, Minn. (November 12, 2016) - St. Olaf College scored two goals late in the third period to force overtime, but UW-Stout responded with a goal by
Jordan Stejskal with 1:08 left in the overtime period for a 5-4 win Saturday at the Northfield Ice Arena.
For Stejskal, it was his first goal of the season and it couldn't have come at a better time.
Throughout the game, Stout (4-2-0) would take a lead, only to see the one-win Oles (1-5-0) storm back.
Stout took the early lead.
Gavin Smith scored at 4:28 in the first period and
Connor Valesano scored at 12:46. The Oles' got a shorthanded goal from Will Dittrich at 16:10 four minutes later to cut the lead to 2-1.
Chris Koziel knotted the score at 13:29 in the second period. The Blue Devil took little time to resume control, scoring twice in just under two minutes of game time.
Alex Toscano scored at 15:37 of the second and
Riley Colvard made it 4-2 at 16:56.
St. Olaf sent the game into overtime with two quick goals late in the game, the first coming on the power play at 17:12 by Tobias Gabrielson and the second coming at 17:46 by JT Paine.
Colvard assisted Stejskal on the game-winning goal, his second assist of the game.
Making his third start, freshman
Tommi Ahlgren recorded 19 saves. Eric Hancock had 22 saves for the Oles.
Stout will be at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Friday, Nov. 18 and at Concordia-Wis., Saturday, Nov.19.
