Archived VideoMENOMONIE (January 23, 2016) - Stout fell short in their first battle of the season against Oshkosh in Johnson Fieldhouse. Falling behind early, it was an uphill climb that could not be overcome. The Blue Devils had two players in double figures.
Kylie Hebert led the team with 16 points and
Kyncaide Diedrich scored a career-high 12 points.
Oshkosh jumped on Stout early, going on a 18-4 run to open the first quarter. Stout fought back in the second and was able to cut the lead to nine on a three pointer from
Nicole Schaub, assisted by Diedrich. The second half ended Oshkosh still on top 34-21.
The second half was not much of a different story. Stout could only manage to cut the lead to nine once more after two made free throws by Diedrich. The second half did not lack effort by the Blue Devils, who found themselves diving for loose balls and hustling on every play, but Oshkosh proved to be too much. Oshkosh came out on top 65-50.
Along with her career high, Diedrich added two assists and grabbed four rebounds. Hebert also got after missed shots, grabbing seven rebounds to lead the team; two of which were on the offensive end.
The Titans had two players in double figures, Eliza Campbell led all scorers with 20 points, and Alex Richard had a double-double, scoring 11 and adding 11 rebounds.
Stout will stay home this week as they take on the Pointers on Wednesday Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.
