MENOMONIE (September 5, 2015) - For the second consecutive game, UW-Stout played to a tie, this time a 1-1 double overtime contest with the College of St. Benedict Saturday at Nelson Field.

Both goals were scored within a four-minute time period early in the second half.

The Blue Devils (0-0-2) got on the board first when freshman Sydney Kasper (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) found senior Addy Maher (Sr, Racine) on the through ball in the box and Maher put the ball in the back of the net in the 54th minute.

St. Benedict (1-0-1) countered less than four minutes later, taking advantage of a lot of action inside the box. Kelsey Tatarek picked up a deflected shot and hit the upper corner of the net in the 58th minute.

Neither team generated a lot of offense after that. St. Benedict hedl a slight advantage in overall shots, 14-13. Stout's Paige Meyer (Sr, Beldenville) recorded four saves, while the Blazers' Heather Kaluzniak recorded five saves.

The Blue Devils return to action Tuesday, Sept. 8 when they travel to St. Catherine for a 4 p.m. contest. Stout returns to the Twin Cities area when they visit St. Thomas, Saturday, Sept. 12.
