UW-Stout 3, UW-Platteville 1PLATTEVILLE (September 26, 2015) -
Sydney Kasper (Fr, Owatonna, Minn) scored two goals to push UW-Stout to a 3-1 win over UW-Platteville, Saturday at Pioneer Stadium, as Stout captured it's second conference win in as many attempts.
Kasper put the Blue Devils (6-1-2, 2-0-0 WIAC) on the board in the 20th minute of the contest with an assist by
Addy Maher (Sr, Racine).
Kelly Conn (Jr, Menasha) doubled Stout's total, taking a pass from
Lindsey Concon (Sr, Ashland) and
Jenna Kizlik (Sr, Hammond) and took the shot from about 18 yards out in the 34th minute.
Kasper got her third goal of the season, finding the back of the net in the 64th minute with an assist by
Rosie Anderson (So, Eagan, Minn).
The Pioneer's sister duo of Morgan Phillips to Emily Phillips broke up
Paige Meyer's (Sr, Beldenville) sixth shutout bid of the season in the 78th minute. Older sister Emily took younger sister Morgan's free kick and headed it into the net.
Stout controlled the game, getting off 17 shots to six for Platteville (1-7-0, 0-2-0 WIAC). Meyer made two saves, while Taylor made five second half saves for Platteville and Katie Rash made three in the first half.
Stout will host UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. and UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m.
