Tschumperlin leads Blue Devils to conference-opening win over Falcons

MENOMONIE (September 23, 2015) - It was all in a night's work for UW-Stout's Rachel Tschumperlin.

After singing the national anthem to open the night, Tschumperlin (Sr, Fairmont, Minn) went on to hammer out 11 kills and take command at the net with two solo blocks and seven block assists.

The Blue Devils (10-5, 1-0 WIAC) dropped the first set, 25-18, but stormed back to win the final three, 25-17, 25-11, 25-21.

Ashley Pratt (So, Lakeville, Minn) matched Tschumperlin with 11 kills and had a solo block and five block assists. Kennedy Strain (Fr, Elk River, Minn) had 10 kills and partnered up for five block assists.

The Blue Devils held court defensively at the net, recording three solo blocks and 20 block assists.

Brianna Muetzel led the Falcons (8-10, 0-1 WIAC) with 11 kills.

Stout will be at the UW-Whitewater Invitational, Sept. 25-26, where they will face three nationally ranked teams.
