MENOMONIE (September 19, 2015) -
Jenna Kizlik (Sr, Hammond) scored a goal and an assist and
Megan Collins (Sr, Maple Grove, Minn) scored a goal as UW-Stout opened the conference season with a 2-0 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Nelson Field.
Kizlik took a cross from
Haley Wentz (So, Naperville, Ill) in the 23rd minute to put the Blue Devils (3-1-2, 1-0-0Â WIAC) on the board. The Blue Devils played a good majority of the first half in the Pointers zone.
Collins racked up her second goal of the season since switching to midfield, getting assists from Kizlik and
Addy Maher (Sr, Racine), hitting the bottom right corner of the net.
Stout outshot the Pointers 14-9 overall. The Pointers' Kristen Churkey recorded nine saves, while Stout's
Paige Meyer (Sr, Beldenville) recorded three saves in picking up her third shutout of the season.
Stout will host St. Scholastica, Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m.
