Wartburg College 6, UW-Stout 3EAU CLAIRE (September 12, 2015) - UW-Stout took to the early bell this morning, but dropped two contests, a 9-0 conference contest to UW-Eau Claire, and a 6-3 non-conference decision to Wartburg College Saturday at the UW-Eau Claire courts.
The Blue Devils (1-3) got singles wins against Wartburg College from
Emma Pedersen (Jr, Eau Claire),
Linsey Thisius (Fr, Wells, Minn) and
Danielle Lutz (Sr, Maple Grove, Minn).
Pedersen had to come back after dropping the first set at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 11-9. Thisius controlled her No. 3 opponent, 6-4, 6-2. Lutz, after winning the first set 6-4, dropped the second set, 6-1, but regrouped to win the third set, 10-7.
Anna Lano (Sr, Chaska, Minn) had a close match at No. 6 singles, falling 7-5, 6-4.
The Blue Devils return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, when they host Bethany Lutheran College and Ripon College in a triangular, starting at 10 a.m. when the Blue Devils meet Bethany.
