UW-Superior 5, UW-Stout 0 | UW-Stout 1, UW-Superior 0

SUPERIOR (April 22, 2015) - Drew Worth (Fr, Brown Deer) struck out seven and went the distance to give UW-Stout a 1-0 win in game two of a doubleheader at UW-Superior Wednesday. The win came on the heels of a 5-0 first game win by the Yellowjackets.

The southpaw Worth fanned seven and got three of those Ks in the ninth inning. Worth struck out the first two Yellowjacket batters in the ninth, then allowed a single. Worth then got the final batter looking to end the game. The win marked a number of collegiate firsts for Worth. He notched his first complete game and his first shutout. The seven punchouts far passed his previous best of four.

The Blue Devils got the only run of the game in the fifth inning. Chris Biederman (Fr, Plum City) and Hunter Dicus (So, Elk  Mound) led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Noah Brown (So, Forest Lake, Minn) moved the runners with a sacrifice bunt and Clay Gale (Fr, La Crosse), making his first collegiate start, scored Biederman with a sacrifice bunt, marking Gale's first collegiate RBI.

Dicus remained hot at the plate, going 3-for-3 and marking the 16th time in the last 17 games he has notched at least a single hit.

After being held to one hit game one, the Blue Devils were able to record seven hits to Superior's six hits.

In game one, Dicus was the only Blue Devil to record a hit as the Yellowjackets recorded three runs in the third inning. Superior got single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Stout will return home to host UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. The Blue Devils will return to Superior Wednesday, April 29.
