North Park University 7, UW-Stout 2GLENDALE (April 12, 2015) - The women's tennis team shut out Beloit College 9-0 but were then beat by North Park University 7-2 in their second match of the day.
Stout was unstoppable in the first match, not letting a single set get to three games. In doubles,
Emma Pederson and
Danielle Lutz won 8-0 while
Suttun Beck and
Ellen Miller won 8-3. Stout easily handled Beloit in singles competition, only surrendering 15 points total. Emma Pederson won 6-2 and 6-4 at No. 1,
Kelsey Pederson won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3
Jenna Welke blanked Beloit going 6-0 and 6-0. At No. 4
Jenna Ladewig went 6-4 and 6-0 while
Bailee Priewe went 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot.
In the second match of the day the doubles team of
Brianna Buhl and
Ellen Miller took one set 8-1. The singles had a rough second match, Beck (No. 6) was the only winner of the match taking her set 6-0, 6-1.
Stout will play their last match of the season next Saturday April 19 in Menomonie against Martin Luther College.
