UW-Stout 4, Wartburg College 3 | Wartburg College 4, UW-Stout 3

ROCK ISLAND, Ill (March 28, 2015) - UW-Stout split a pair of games to Wartburg College at the Augustana College Tournament Saturday in Rock Island, Ill, winning the first game, 4-3, but losing the second game, 4-3, in eight innings.

In the opener, Tori Workman struck out seven to get the win. Stout scored four runs in the bottom of the second. Wartburg scored twice in the third and once in the fifth. In the fifth, Stout cut down the potential game tying win at the plate as centerfielder Nicole Rogers hit shortstop Lynzi Knudtson with the cutoff who made the throw to catcher Rachel Thomas  to apply the tag.

The win snapped a Stout seven game losing streak and stopped a Wartburg winning streak at 13 games.

In the nightcap, the two teams each scored two runs in the third. Stout added a run in the eighth, but Wartburg picked up the win with two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth.
