UW-Stevens Point 6, UW-Stout 0

MENOMONIE (February 6, 2015) - In Spencer Viele 's (So, Wildwood,  MO) last four outings, he has recorded at least 40 saves. In the UW-Stout goalie's latest outing with third ranked UW-Stevens Point Friday, Viele recorded a season-high 49 saves, but he was unable to stop the conference's highest scoring machine from adding to their totals as the Blue Devils lost a 6-0 decision to the Pointers at the Fanetti Community Center.

Viele was put to the test early and often, stopping 21 shots in first period, but allowing two goals, including what would prove to the first of three power play goals for the Pointers.

The Pointers parlayed a 2-0 lead after a period into a 3-0 lead with a power play goal by Logan Lemirande in the second period, then doubled the score with a three goal third period.

Kyle Sharkey had two power play goals, one in the first and one in the third periods. Garrett Ladd finished the night with two goals as well, getting the game-opening goal and tagging on another in the third period. the Pointers' Eliot Grauer closed out the scoring with less than a minute left in the contest.

The Pointers (16-4-0, 6-1-0 WIAC) were 3-for-4 on the power play, while Stout (8-11-1, 3-4-0 WIAC) was 0-for-2. The Pointers outshot Stout, 55-22.
