Box Score UW-Stout 4, St. Olaf College 1NORTHFIELD, Minn (November 14, 2015) - One night after getting beat by a 4-1 score, the UW-Stout hockey team turned the score around and defeated St. Olaf College by a 4-1 score Saturday.
The Blue Devils (2-2-2) scored twice in a 10 second time spand to take 2-0 lead.
Riley Colvard scored on the power play at 10:21 of the first period, with assists by
Sam Naegele and
Tyler Cayemberg. The goal was Colvard's first of the season. Ten seconds later,
Karl Andersen scored his second goal in two nights, getting help from
Tom Schmidt and
Justin Moody.
Following a scoreless second period,
Dylan Zins scored his first collegiate goal at the 5:06 mark of the final period to give the Blue Devils a 3-0 lead.
The Oles (2-2-2) got on the board late in the third period on a goal b Gordon Wells.
Justin Moody, the team's leading scorer last season, notched his first goal of the season when he drew the empty net goal with 21 seconds remaining in the game.
The Oles outshot Stout 42-31 and the Blue Devils'
Spencer Viele recorded 41 saves. The Oles' Robert McDonald had 27 saves. Stout was 1-for-3 on the power play while St. Olaf was 0-for-6.
Stout will host Concordia-Wisconsin, Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
