Saints jump on Blue Devils for three in first, take 4-1 win

DULUTH, Minn (October 31, 2015) - St. Scholastica scored three goals in the first period and tagged on another in the second on their way to a 4-1 win over UW-Stout Saturday at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Saints (1-0-1) took advantage of the power play, scoring all four of their goals with the advantage. Keegan Bruce scored at 8:15 of the first, Joel Paiement scored at 13:41 and Michael Spring scored at 17:43. Bruce scored his second goal of the game at 15:27 of the second period.

Stout got on the board with less than a minute left in the game, following a melee that accounted for eight penalties, five on St. Scholastica, three on Stout, for 54 total minutes. Tyler Cayemberg (Jr, East Troy) scored on the advantage aminute later at 19:12 to break up the shutout.

Chase Hollander (Jr, Random Lake) was chased after allowing three first period goals, and recorded 11 saves. Spencer Viele (Jr, Wildwood, Mo) came on in relief, recording 30 saves and allowing one goal. The Saints' Tyler Bruggeman made 23 saves.

Stout opens the home portion of their schedule Friday, Nov. 6 when they host Bethel University at 7:30 p.m. Stout will host Gustavus Adolphus College, Saturday, Nov. 7.
