UW-Stout 2, UW-Superior 0SUPERIOR (October 28, 2015) - UW-Superior is no longer in the same conference as UW-Stout, but the results were still the same as the Blue Devils took a 2-0 win on a chilly evening on the banks of Lake Superior Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (8-7-3) dominated the field, outshooting the Yellowjackets (2-13-0), 26-8 and putting 11 shots on net compared to one for Superior. The Blue Devils were awarded five corner kicks compared to one for Superior.
Paige Meyer (Sr, Beldenville) recorded her sixth shutout of the season and her 14th career shutout in Stout's final regular season contest.
Freshman
Sydney Kasper (Owatonna) put the Blue Devils on the board first with a goal in the 22nd minute. Stout rode the one goal lead until senior
Jenna Kizlik (Hammond) scored in the 65th minute to double the score.
The Blue Devils will need to await the outcome of the UW-Stevens Point at UW-River Falls game Saturday, Oct. 31. The Pointers upset first place UW-La Crosse tonight. The WIAC tournament begins Tuesday, Nov. 2.
