Whitewater puts up three goals in second half, down Stout 4-0

WHITEWATER (November 3, 2015) - UW-Whitewater scored three goals in the second half to put an end to UW-Stout's season with a 4-1 decision in the first round of the WIAC Women's Soccer Tournament Tuesday.

The Warhawks (15-4-0) opened the game with a goal in the 18th minute by Morgan Beatty. Whitewater broke the game open with a three-goal flurry over 10 minutes in the second half by three different players. Marie Lesperance scored in the 50th minute, Brianna Reid in the 58th minute and Karina Rosales in the 60th minute.

Whitewater held a 16-5 advantage in overall shots and a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Warhawks held a distinct advantage in set pieces, getting off nine corner kicks to Stout's one.

The Warhawks move on to face UW-La Crosse Thursday in semi-final action. Stout finished the season at 8-8-3 overall.
