UW-Stout 7, UW-River Falls 2MENOMONIE (October 2, 2015) - UW-Stout won their first conference match of the season Friday handling UW-River Falls 7-2, marking their third win in a row.
Stout (4-3) took all of the doubles matches 3-0, winning 8-6, 8-4 and 8-1. The singles were led by (No. 2)
Emma Pedersen who came back to win her last two sets 6-4 and 10-6.
Linsey Thisius (No. 3) won her sets easily, going 6-2 and 6-4.
Kelsey Pedersen (No. 4) also won in a comeback, winning her second set 6-0 and third 10-5.
Katie Kreibich (No. 6) rounded out the win taking her sets 6-2, 6-3.
This win marks the first conference win for the Blue Devils since the 2008 season when they beat UW-Stevens Point 5-4. It is also Stout's first win over River Falls since the 2007 season.
The Blue Devils will look to continue their winning ways going into their next match. They play UWStevens Point at home October 9 at 3 p.m.
