UW-La Crosse 1, UW-Stout 0LA CROSSE (October 10, 2015) - UW-La Crosse attacked in the first half and UW-Stout attacked in the second half, but UW-La Crosse was the only team to hit the back of the net as the Eagles defeated the Blue Devils, 1-0, Saturday, in a conference contest.
The Eagles (11-3-0, 4-0-0 WIAC) punched out nine shots in the first half, compared to one for the Blue Devils (6-5-2, 2-3-0 WIAC). The tide turned in the second half, as Stout took nine shots compared to three for the Eagles.
La Crosse recorded the only goal of the game in the 41st minute when Margaret Harings scored and the Eagles made the lone goal stand up.
Both teams put three goals on net throughout the game. Stout's
Paige Meyer (Sr, Beldenville) recorded two saves, while the Eagles' Kennedy Brault stopped all three shots sent her way. The loss is Stout's fourth consecutive loss.
Stout returns to conference action when they travel to UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a 7 p.m. contest.
