UW-Stout 3, UW-Superior 2SUPERIOR (January 17, 2015) - UW-Stout came back from a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 win over UW-Superior at Wessman Arena Saturday to sweep the weekend series over the Yellowjackets.

Superior scored twice early in the first period, but Stout's
Danny Ray (Jr, Grand Forks, ND) scored on the power play midway through the period, getting an assist from goalie
Chase Hollander (So, Random Lake), to cut the lead in half.

Hollander would keep the Yellowjackets out of the net the rest of the way and the Blue Devil offense scored twice in the third period for the win.

Justin Moody (So, Grand Forks, ND) scored his second goal in two nights, tying the score four minutes into the third period, then
Matt Millis (Sr, Black River Falls) got the game winner with about three minutes left in the game.
Jake Useldinger (Jr, East Grand Forks, Minn) and
Riley Colvard (So, Centerville, Minn) assisted Moody, and
Karl Andersen (So, River Falls) and
Jordan Stejskal (Fr, Cohassett, Minn) assisted on the game winner.
Hollander, who picked up his second consecutive win and his second of the weekend, notched another strong effort. On the heels of a 2-0 shutout over the Yellowjackets the night before, Hollander recorded 36 saves.
After giving up the two goals in the first 4-minutes, 8-seconds of the game, Hollander put a clamp on the net. He recorded three saves before allowing the two goals, then recorded 12 saves during the rest of the first period, and 15 total in the period. He collected 14 saves in the second period. The Blue Devil defense allowed only seven shots on net in the third period.
With the win, their third in a row, the Blue Devils improve to 5-8-1, overall 2-2-0 in the WIAC.
Superior goalie Corey Simons made 25 saves as the Yellowjackets (7-10-0, 0-4-0 WIAC) outshot Stout, 38-28.
Stout will travel to St. John's University, Tuesday, Jan. 20 for a 7 p.m. tilt, then return to the Dunn County Ice Arena for a pair of games against first year program Aurora University. The teams will meet Friday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 24 at 4 p.m.
